Business partners Cameron Whitnall and Greg Ward have many years of combined experience in the property sector and in 2011 took advantage of an opportunity to join forces with an industry leader, John McGrath, and establish McGrath Woden.
Although initially using a Sydney based accounting firm, Cameron says that that “the fit wasn’t quite right and they wanted to partner with a local company.”
Since that point MGI Partner Greg Diamond has been there to offer his support and guidance.
Reflecting on the relationship between MGI and McGrath, Cameron said he has “complete trust in Greg and the team which is the key driver to wanting to do business together.”
“We don’t make any big decisions without Greg’s participation and value his input as to whether it is a good idea,” Cameron said.
Key wins for McGrath Woden
(1) Rent roll acquisition
A couple of years ago Cameron and Greg decided to expand the property management side of the business and acquired a significant rent roll and the team at MGI were on hand to provide assistance throughout the process.
Cameron said that the advice, accurate information and support that MGI provided ensured that they went into the deal with eyes wide open and were able to successfully secure the acquisition.
(2) Tax minimisation
Greg and the team work closely with McGrath Woden to ensure they provide accurate tax advice tailored to their business needs and can ensure that any impact from tax obligations are reduced.
(3) Support into the future
Cameron and Greg want to continue to develop their property management portfolio and believe that their attention to detail and dedication to this area of their business is a real point of difference for them and their dedicated team.
Cameron said that Greg has always wanted to have a good understanding of their businesses growth and how we plan to move forward over the next few years.
Having someone that we can trust and bounce ideas off is important to us, we have always felt like nothing is ever too much trouble for Greg.
